HURRICANE INFORMATION AND DATABASE INFORMATION
We are in the process of gathering information for hurricane and disaster preparedness and will use this information to create a database for immediate and future use. For forms to print and take with you if you evacuate, click the "EQUINE EMERGENCY FORMS" link. For more links to other pages with emergency information, click "EMERGENCY LINKS" above.
If you need to evacuate your horses, click the link above for possible "EVACUATION SITES". Please be aware: your horse MUST HAVE A CURRENT COGGINS and other stipulations may be requested, ie: bring your own feed, hay, etc. Check with the site you choose for their requirements prior to hauling.
In most cases, horse owners are not aware that once a mandatory evacuation order has been issued, or the sustained winds reach 35mph, horse trailers and commercial vehicles are discouraged from traveling on the highways. This makes it imperative for a horse owner to evacuate earlier than most residents.
If you can foster horses, haul horses, supply emergency needs after the storm, or would like to volunteer for relief services, please add your information to our DATABASE.
